'May you not rest, as long as I am living. You said I killed you – haunt me, then'
Emily Bronte, Wuthering HeightsWuthering Heights is the tale of two families both joined and riven by love and hate. Cathy is a beautiful and wilful young woman torn between her soft-hearted husband and Heathcliff, the passionate and resentful man who has loved her since childhood. The power of their bond creates a maelstrom of cruelty and violence which will leave one of them dead and cast a shadow over the lives of their children. Emily Bronte's novel is a stunningly original and shocking exploration of obsessive passion.
Today I finished reading Wuthering Heights. It is a beautiful story. I love and hate the characters with as much wild passion as they love and hate each other. Emily's writing creates vibrant waves of despair and gloom that cannot but capture the imagination and send it into spiraling caverns of wonderment. I only wish Emily had written more, for Wuthering Heights is her first and last novel.
This is a must read for all lovers of classics, romance and trillers.

This book is great, the story is so complex and intriguing but in a good way. The characters pull you in and wrap you up to the point that you find yourself detesting, adoring, and sympathizing characters. I believe that any book that can awake and grasp your emotions is a strong book. it is however a bit complicated and you will have to read it more than once to grasp it fully. I can't recall in detail the book just because i read it so long ago but i do remember that the book had me very emotionally involved and on my toes. It is a complex tragic love story that you have to read with much caution and go in with an adamant mind on reading the book, if not your attempt to read this book will fail. If you do read carefully and truly let yourself be captivated by the book, i guarantee that you will love it. It is just a shame that Emily Bronte doesn't have other books to read.
