Mailbox #2

Hosted by Story Siren

Some really exciting books came this week! With a speical thanks to Penguin Australia and my local library!

First up: Yestderday I dragged my sister to the shops and I finally managed to find Fire by Kristin Cashore. The reason it's taken me so long is because I've been waiting for this book to come out in the smaller size so that it matches my Graceling (book 1). See Bookcase Babble 2 and you will understand why I.

I also picked up a copy of Sea Glass by Maria V. Snyder. I just finished Storm Glass , the first book in this series and I couldn't wait to find out what happened. I'll get a review up really soon, I promise.

The next two books I found at my local library. I don't know what I would do without that place. It is one thing to wait pedantically for the right size Fire to be published but it is another to try and buy everything that I read. Wish I could but money doesn't grow on trees. *HUGS ENTIRE LIBRARY* my lifesaver!!

The first one is The Fool's Girl by Celia Rees published by Bloomsbury. And the second is With A Sword In My Hand by Jean-Claude van Rijckeghem and Pat van Beirs. Unfortunately I have to read the translated version because my muti-lingual skills are non-existence but I'm really looking forward to this one because its won so many prizes including the Thea Beckman Prize, the Flemish Children's and Youth Jury Prize and the Kleine Cervantes. It's set in the Middle Ages (my FAVORITE time period) and based on the true story of Marguerite van Male.

Finally, Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, and The Left Hand of God by Paul Hoffman curtsey of Penguin. A big thanks there. *HAPPY FACE*

  1. nice pick ups. I know what you mean about finding the right size edition of Fire :) I am definitely OCD like that too :)

I'm hanging out for my copy of beautiful darkness to arrive - I've read some really good reviews of it lately, lots of people saying it's in their top 5 favourite books (!)

    xx
